I swam the day of, shampooed and washed it before dying. The color took no prob. Next couple of days the burning/pain has increased, but with no redness. What should I do?

1. Depending on the type of color you used and the chemicals in the pool....there is a small possibility that there was a chemical reaction between the two. 2. You should not irritate your scalp by shampooing immediately before applying dye. 3. Did you mix the color ingredients strictly according to directions?
My suggestion would be to wash your hair in tepid water with a gentle shampoo and rub in a good conditioner to help neutralize any post oxidation. Do not use a hot blow dryer on your scalp. If this does nothing to relieve the discomfort...see your physician.

Sounds like you may have had an allergic reaction to the hair dye. Try contacting a doctor to see what/if there is anything that you can do to help with the burning and pain.

wash it really well; whatever chemical is irritating your scalp is probably left over from the dye, so you need to wash it out.
