I'm going to play the Devil's Advocate here a little bit, because everyone is willing to play armchair psychologist but isn't willing to give that great of options.

Now, sometimes, people think they are crazy. But being self aware enough to think you might be crazy probably means you aren't crazy.

If you think you drink too much, do some self evaluation to the extent of your drinking. If your 22 and going out 5 nights a week, try cutting it back some. But if it's causing serious problems at work and school, now it's time to seek some professional help.

I'd start by seeing a doctor, and determine what is too much drinking for you. Your doctor is always going to give you the worst case scenario and will probably tell you to work out, which is a good thing. Find activities that are not related to going to the bar and drinking.

If you enjoy drinking, there's no reason to feel guilty about it. Don't jump off a cliff and assume 'I drink more then someone else, I must be an alcoholic, I'm going to AA'. I'm not taking away from what AA does, but it can be an extreme situation for something that's not a problem. If you really want support, but think you want to continue drinking, I would recommend Moderation Management, who subscribe to initial abstinent periods but advocate responsible drinking over lifetime abstinence.

And finally .. just do what makes you feel right. You really are the only person that knows all your limits.

If you think so than you probably do. Now you have a choice - keep drinking and let it get really serious or get help now.

That's right. Admitting you have a problem is the first step, now you have to get yourself off to AA and get some help to overcome your problem.

Who desides who drinks to much? You or them. If you drink more than me, hats off to ya or you can look at it this way who cares. Cheers to you.

You can also look at it this way if they can't run with the big dogs they need to stay home

Does it get in the way of relationships and your job? If so then you have a problem. If it is a social thing and you are young, maybe not.
