like just hanging out talking sports playing a video game once in awhile not like the 21 year getting the 17 beer or stuff like that

There is nothing at all weird about that!! Age is just a number, and if the 17 year old has interests similar to yours, and is as mature as you (or as immature as you AHEM) then why not have a great friend?
I have a wonderful, wonderful friend that is a full 10 years younger than I am, that I met in college. We have been like sisters for 14 years. She started out being the typical college kid, showing up hungry when she lived in the dorm. Now she is married, with a house of her own, but we have stayed friends and I love her dearly. I can't imagine life without her!
You have your friend if you want to -- friendships are like anything else: they shouldn't be determined by such things as age or race!! Only by how you feel when you are together!

No, it's not weird if you guys are just hanging out as friends. But however, if you want to be more than friends with her, wait for her to turn 18, then it's ok, but not when she is still 17. When you are 18 or older really up to 7 years difference is okay with me in a relationship. But ya, if you just want to be friends with her, it is fine.

Not so weird...the age gap isn't that big and if the 17 yr old is mature for their age then it would make sense they'd want to spend time around people a little older.

No not at all Ive got friends of all ages. I will ask you though and be honest is the 17 year old a member of the oposite sex and do you have a thing for her or him ? Im thinking yes by the way you asked the question .

I dont feel that there is anything wrong with their age difference. Every persons maturity differs from one another. The seventeen year old may just have more of a mature mind for his age and the twenty-one year old may just be mentally slower on his age but somehow they connect on the same level and if they are not bad kids then let them be who they are.

Its only 4 years... so, no problem for being close friends. But, careful until he/she is 18 (or 21...check your state's statutues) for anything more than that.

no. im 21 and my bf is 18. we have a blast together
so there is def nothing wrong w/ just hanging out in your situation..

that isnt a big gap at all.......there is no problem with having friends younger that you....it is only 4 years. no big deal.

nope, not at all. just as long you both understand where the friendship is at. like you said, it's not like you guys are getting drunk. sometimes it better to surround yourself with older ppl and visa versa...
