What I do not understand is why a woman gets very little jail time or maybe even probation. A man gets 10 years.
No I am not saying give men lesser sentences but give women more time.

I agree, men/boys do not tend to report that type of abuse because of the "stigmata" men are supposed to "like it". I think that is total bull and a caveman mentality, but it is there never-the-less. Boys are afraid to get made fun of. I think ALL child molesters should not only be punished by the law, but that the victims and victim's family should also have a great influence on sentencing. Jail is one thing, but there needs to be more done. A child's life is ruined, and the person gets a few years and has to enroll as a sex-offender. Big deal...that will not get the child's self esteem back. It will not help them to ever trust others again. Registering is not enough to protect other children. Better laws need to be formed and enforced to protect our children.

Don't get angry at me, but if a teacher is involved with a high school boy, can't the boy say no if he doesn't want it, i mean he is the one doing most of the 'action' there...well, i guess that's just another question to post. I am sure this stuff has been going on with females and younger males for years but i do agree that there seems to be a double standard, they don't get much publicity, punishment, and probably the boys are not always taken seriously. Sad.

As a mother of 3 boys, I find it very disturbing ..... My boys are grown, and I am finding out a few interesting things that went on in their teen yrs.... Like one of my boys, at the age of 16 was witha woman about 35..... she was the mother of one of the girls he dated at the time.... I find that more than disgusting.... If I would have known then I would have, well just say it would NOT have been purty... and NO boys do not tell, they are taught that it is MACHO ...... It is sooooo sad that there are double standards when it comes to such things, but, I do realize that the physical and emotional makeup of the 2 sexs does, at times , make a difference in just WHAT happened..... hard to explain what I mean in such a small space, but I hope you know what I mean........ God bless

Can I confess to having a bit of a double standard.

I can't help it. Just don't judge them as bad as a guy who does the same thing. Assuming the boys are at least 14.

Still, I know its wrong and my double standard is wrong.

Over 18? In that case, as long as the molesting is consentual and there is no "corruption"? I guess i'd be open.

I think they should do the same time as a man. Can you imagine what the judge would say if a man claimed he was too pretty to go to jail?

I think that it is disgusting and terrible to do this. These women are taking away the childs' innocence.I believe that they should rot in prison.I wish the victims would speak up.That way people would know.

There is actually some truth to what you say... child abuse and domestic violence weren't social problems until about 30 years ago, and then it seems to have mushroomed -- but that is likely because it wasn't recognized before that...

I don't care if it is a male or female. If they molest a child they should br locked away for the rest of their lives instead of getting a slap on the f***ing wrist.
