Are they going to get upset if I use a smaller bag? I can see that they would about a bigger one, but all I need to take is some eyeliner & mascara. I don't own any quart size bags. Seems silly to go buy a box for one bag. Are they still giving them away at the airport?

The rule is 3 oz or less in a quart size bag. Mascara and eyeliner should be OK without a bag. Some airlines give away bags, but I wouldn't count on it. Some gift shops sell bags, but you could probably by a whole box for the same price. A quart size zip lock bag is only 8" x 7.75".... a smaller bag would be OK.

You can pack full size products in check-in bags.
For carry-on, remember 3-1-1:

3 ounces bottles or smaller;
1 quart see through ziptop bag; and
1 bag per person

Buy the box - you can pack several bags in your suitcase for postcards, dirty underwear, and in case your bag breaks. They take very little space & are really usefull. I carry a variety of sizes for souvenirs, wet swimsuits, etc.
