I think that's a pretty good philosophy. Just keep being quiet and yourself, if people don't like it then that is there problem. Even if you were opposite, people would still have a problem with you.

I have only shopped at BB a couple times. Nobody knew anything other than what was written on the sales sign or the box. A supervisor had to be called to answer my question and he got interrupted by someone else and wandered away. So - in short, the store needs you as an employee; just be attentive to your customers and do a good job. If the work environment is hostile towards you, talk to your supervisor - or - get a job at another business where employees want to do a good job and work together instead of behaving so poorly. Don't be discouraged!

It appears to me that Best Buy has some kind of company team spirit thing, because I've seen their sales people out in the parking lot doing a cheer before the store opens, which strikes me as about the stupidest possible thing. It should be up to the person how extroverted and sociable they want to be.

And I think Best Buy provide about the worst customer service I've ever seen.

Wow I'm glad I don't shop at the Best Buy where you work or the ones the other responders mention. I had a bad experience at one in Houston area but it was corrected by upper management and I'm back to shopping where the employees are friendly and knowledgeable.

Compared to Future Shop, best buy employees rock... I always get someone to help me find what I need there... I know you where hired to work... But mabye you should lighten up a bit. After all you spend most of your day there... than at home. You dont have to be friends, mabye the mean you dont socialise...

No matter where you work you have to deal with coworkers. If you don't get along with them they can make your life miserable. You could get another job and deal with new assholes or try to get along with the ones you already know.

Unfortunately how well you do on the job, what kind of reference you will get, or promotions and raises entails more than just doing a good job. You've got to get along with the group...after all, your boss hired them, so he/she must think they are okay.

Sometimes it's better to just stay quiet and keep to yourself...if you don't like the people there, don't associate with them, and even more importantly, don't pay attention to their opinion on your demeanor. Like you said, you are there to work and make money : ) Don't be rude to them, of course...just do what you have to do and leave happy everyday!

Whenever i'm in the nearest best buy all of the workers there seem to be chatting with one another. and when i need to ask a question they are never to be found...they are off chatting!....they come by at the most inconvienent times and ask questions. Maybe you're the one that i need in the best buy store.
