I've never had a regular period ever since I started at 12. I'm 19 now. I thought all was fine one year, and I had it every 29-30 days, and it lasted for about 4 months, then it went irregular again. Last year I only had 3 periods! is it common to have an irregular period for this long?

Please don't answer if you're going to make fun. Thanks!

I noticed last year that I had irregular cycles,I found out that I have p.c.o.s,I was put on birth control pills (othro tricyclen lo) and my periods have been normal (every 29 days ever since). You need to go and see your physician so that you can get a series of tests done, mainly hormones and ultrasound to check for cysts on your ovaries. Most women who have it don't have normal periods, and other side effects, mainly unable to get pregnant, but with treatments it is possible to conceive. Many women take Clomid and other treatments if trying to conceive, but if you are not then you are given birth control and other meds. to regulate your cycles. I have 4 children and I conceived them, luckly, without treatments so it's possible to conceive on your own with p.c.o.s..But you must see your physician so that you can know what is causing your long cycles and to make sure it isn't other problems going on like thyroid, hormonal imbalance,or other problems. Or you may be stressed, that can cause your cycle to be delayed, or working out to much and running, changes in life, illness, dehydration, even if you are grieving, or just upset. But you need to go see your physician to rule out other problems.

you never know. i have had an irregular period all my life. at one point it was coming about every 40 days or so and then it went crazy again. my doctor did tell me that if you do not have a period in 3 months to come in and she would give me some sort of medicine to make me start. something about being an increase risks for certain cancers if you do not have a period for over 3 months. you should talk to your doctor about it.

Mine are weird too except they last for 3 weeks!!. See the doc and if you cant stand it any more (your lucky to have them only that many times in a year) then get on birth control. This may well be your norm.

lots of ladies human beings have abnormal sessions, even women human beings of their 1920s and 1930s. actual, the purely individual that would want to inform you once you're healthful or no longer is your gyno. Make an appointment right now and talk ideas like birth control that could also help you get accepted. This all might want to be your favourite flow or you've something extreme happening.
