I'm helping my friend find his Dad. I want to know how i can do this for free or at a low cost. i know his 1st and last name, is that enough?

Usually the more you know the easier it will be, knowing the city/state helps too.

Go to google and search for people finder, there are several sites out there that can give you last known contact information for around $10 or so.

Did your dad know about you? If so, why wasn't he in your life? Why hasn't he contacted you? My father always told my mom I wasn't his(even tho I look like him and not like the rest of my family). They never did the paternity test. They were young, 19 and weren't married. My mom married a man when I was a year old who raised me and that man is the only man I consider to be my dad. He has passed away now but still I would never try to find my bio dad as he didn't want anything to do with me or raising me so who cares!

You would not believe the info you can get on the genealogy sites go to surname and leave a little info and you will be surprised at what comes back to you. Good Luck

Try to look for emails with his name in the search people, friends.

I haven't seen my father in years and I found him by email and I am 33 years old and now we talk email and phone. good luck and do not give up.

yes, now all you need to do is go to dah dad's home town and see if they have any records of him! good luck and i hope you find him.
