I don't believe so, and I don't think it will even happen, except during one of the specials they have when the jackpot is larger than a million.

The best possible case for a player is to get to the last two cases with $750,000 in once case and $1,000,000 in the other. At that point the bankers offer is going to be $875,000 or so. I have to wonder how many people would be stupid enough to take a coin flip for $125,000. If you have already made $875,000 or so why would you take a coin flip and risk well over $100,000?

But it is incredibly unlikely that a contestant would ever end up with the two largest amounts in play. So the second best scenario is $1,000,000 and $500,000. In that case you would expect the bankers offer to be $700,000 or so. So a player would have to take a coin flip and risk losing $200,000 or more. This is a heck of a lot of money to risk just to make the million.

But even that scenario is quite unlikely. Most of the time if the one million dollars is still in play the other amount is going to be much smaller. So when it gets down to two cases the offer is going to be very high with a massive risk of losing a significant amount of money to gamble for the million. Few people are going to be reckless enough to risk well over $100,000 for that chance to win the million.

However on the odd occasion when they have a special show with a larger jackpot it is theoretically possible for the bankers offer to be over a million, in which case a contestant could simply take the offer to win over a million.

I have on my home game. Though on the show the most anyone has ever won is a little over $700,000 and that's because the top 3 prizes were 1Mil, 3Mil, and 6Mil.

Edit: To a previous poster. If I were left between $500,000 and $1Mil I would go for it. This is a free money game show. Picking the wrong one would result in a consolation prize of $500,000. Boo hoo. That's a hell of a lot more than who wants to be a millionaire normally pays out and that show you actually need a brain. DoND is a mindless game that just won't last because the commercials ruin the game. Somebody needs to tell NBC not to tell us what the offer is going to be "next time" to get us to watch. That was the demise of Millionaire. "Watch tonight as somebody goes for the million. Will they win it?" Ya thanks for ruining the suspense of getting there. That's like somebody saying "Watch the movie the Sixth Sense. Is Bruce Willis a ghost? Find out at the end"
