The term Anti-Christ originated from the bible. And as such, the qualification of the Anti-Christ MUST come from the bible. There is no other authority on this.
According to the bible, the Anti-christ is a lying demon.
Let us see who qualifies to be the Anti-Christ.
1.1 John 2:22 Who is the liar? It is the man who denies that Jesus is the Christ (Messiah). Such a man is the antichrist—he denies the Father (God) and the Son. 23: No one who denies the Son has the Father (God).

2.2 John 1:7
Many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh (from the spirit of God), have gone out into the world. Any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist.

The above qualification points the finger at the one who openly and publicly rejects the deity of Jesus and rejects the God-Son-ship of Jesus.

There is one who qualifies for this:

- MUHAMMAD (PIBUH) OF ISLAM.

Is this a lie? No, its clearly the truth if we are to follow the very first qualification of the Anti-Christ. This means immediately that muslims are soldiers of the anti-christ. If you refer to Revelations, it says that Christians will be BEHEADED by God’s enemies. Today, only the muslims are doing the beheading.

The Anti-Christ purposefully and openly rejects the deity of Christ and his sonship.

This is KEY.

It is not those who simply refuses to believe in God or Jesus. These are classified as nonbelievers.

The purpose of denying the deity of Christ by Satan is to reject God's Salvation plan for mankind, for you. By so doing, your christian faith becomes worthless.

The only purposeful rejection of this deityhood of Jesus is by the muslims.

This will take you to a short. free on-line study. It is short (about 15 munutes). It will teach you who the antichrist is and show you a picture. (You will not be asked for any information about yourself. You will not have to give a name, e-mail address, etc. You will not have to "sign-up' for anything.)

One point I would like to make. You ofter hear about "the" antichrist, but the Greek that 1 & 2 John was written in does not contain the word "the". The KJV correctly does not add this word but is simply says "antichrist" (not "The Antichrist").

There are only 4 verses in the Bible that use the word "antichrist". These are: 1 John 2:18. 1 John 2:22, 1 John 4:3, and 2 John 1:7. (The word is never mentioned in Revelation, or any other book of the Bible except than 1 & 2 John.)

I have read through all of these answers. Some sad, some excellent. Bottom line, anti-Christ. Break the words down. Against Christ. (negative to Christ). Everything that has been written about this says, that there will be many, so we have to assume this fact. We also have to assume that all religions are man made, but a Christian is made by Jesus who is the son of God, who is God, was always God in the beginning as it is written John 1. The Christian faith was not created by man. Interesting. So the Anti-Christ can come from any or all religions. A Protestant, a Baptist, a Buddhist, a Muslim, all of them. The only monopoly of not being a Anti Christ is a Born Again Christian. That is a 100% fact.

The Term Anti-Christ was invented only in the New Testament and it was because they are firm in making Jesus Christ as what he is supposed to be by their grand plan. Go to your common sense and see the difference between being anti-teachings of Christ and the person whom you think as a deceiver.
I am not a Muslim but Mohammad coming is set to uncover the deception made by the Christian Churches when they took away the original Christian followers consist of Jews. They changed several laws and rituals from the Old Testament that broke the relationship of the Judeo-Christian belief. Rome has the capacity to control many people under their empire and so with their power, they created to demonize any other religion or person who will stand against their teachings about Jesus Christ whom they have put on the cross. You still have a lot to learn to know who the real evil in this world. Do not underestimate the intelligence and cunning ability of the devil when it comes to deception. You will be surprised to see him in the place you will never expect he will be. Before you use your finger and your tongue to point on who is the Anti-Christ, use your mind and then your heart to know it.

Who is the Antichrist?
Antichrist means against or instead of Christ. The term applies to all who deny what the Bible says about Jesus Christ, all who oppose his Kingdom, and all who mistreat his followers. It also includes individuals, organizations, and nations that falsely claim to represent Christ or that improperly ascribe to themselves the role of Messiah.
Does the Bible refer to only one antichrist?
1 John 2:18: “Young children, it is the last hour, and, just as you have heard that antichrist is coming, even now there have come to be many antichrists; from which fact we gain the knowledge that it is the last hour.”
2 John 7: “Many deceivers have gone forth into the world, persons not confessing Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is the deceiver and the antichrist.” (Notice that the “many antichrists” of 1 John 2:18 are here referred to collectively as “the antichrist.”)
Is the coming of the antichrist reserved for some future time?
1 John 4:3: “Every inspired expression that does not confess Jesus does not originate with God. Furthermore, this is the antichrist’s inspired expression which you have heard was coming, and now it is already in the world.” (That was written near the end of the first century C.E.)
1 John 2:18: “Even now there have come to be many antichrists; from which fact we gain the knowledge that it is the last hour.” (By “last hour” John evidently meant the end of the apostolic period. The other apostles had died, and John himself was very old.)
Some of those identified as antichrist—
Persons who deny that Jesus is truly the Messiah
1 John 2:22: “Who is the liar if it is not the one that denies that Jesus is the Christ [or, Messiah, anointed one]? This is the antichrist.”
All who deny that Jesus is the unique Son of God
1 John 2:22: “This is the antichrist, the one that denies the Father and the Son.”
Compare John 10:36; Luke 9:35.
Apostates
1 John 2:18, 19: “There have come to be many antichrists . . . They went out from us, but they were not of our sort.”
Those who oppose Christ’s true followers
John 15:20, 21: “If they have persecuted me, they will persecute you also . . . But they will do all these things against you on account of my name.”
Individuals and nations that oppose Christ as King or that themselves falsely claim the Messianic role
Ps. 2:2: “The kings of earth take their stand and high officials themselves have massed together as one against Jehovah and against his anointed one [Christ, or Messiah].”
See also Revelation 17:3, 12-14; 19:11-21.
Matt. 24:24: “False Christs and false prophets will arise and will give great signs and wonders so as to mislead, if possible, even the chosen ones.”

though I'm not muslim, I can say that he wasn't the anti-christ, as the antichrist comes during the seven years of tribulation, when he rules the world (when the Gathering has already taken place and only post-rapture "Christians" and the anit-Christ's followers are left).

those are descriptions of the anti-Christ, not ways to know who he is. and there are many false teachers (some stupid enough to claim to be Christ themselves). the anti-Christ is just to be the end-all one who rules the world. 666 and all that.

and no, Muhammed wasn't anything like Jesus. sorry, but Jesus is Jesus, no one is equal. Jesus wasn't just a teacher.

The Anti-Christ is not One person. You have a religious leader and a military leader says Pastor Dr. Arnold Murray of Shepard's Chapel. Call 1-800-643-4645 for a free CD called "Mark Of The Beast" and listen to it.
Nostradamus the famous French Prophet calls him "MABUS" in his Quatrains.
I think its M. ABBAS the current Palestinian President. (Mohammad)

You ask this question and yet you have the answer.
There is truth is what you say, for the Word of God is doing the speaking.
Those of us who walk under the sun and yet deny God and His Word, Jesus Christ are instead of Christ or anti-christ.><>

Okay, first of all - dude, you're answering your own question.

To give a much general definition: Anything not of God, is of Satan...

and I wouldn't want to just single out Muhammad. There are alot of other "religions" which do not acknowledge the deity of Christ...

some either hide under the disguise of "Christianity" (a.k.a. Jehovah Witness)

*there are more than one anti-christ.

God bless.

Well, actually, when 2.2 John 1:7 says that many deceivers have gone out into the world, I think that means that more than one person qualifies.
