trying to decide between the new neutrogena rapid clear and the clean & clear advantage acne spot treatment products. the neutrogena one is more expensive and is a smaller tube. plus the ingredients for both are quite similar.

anyone have any suggestions on which one is more effective?

Clean & Clear stuff. I use it twice a week. when i used it every night, it dried up my skin TOO much. about 2-3 times per week (depending on how bad it is) should be just about enough to kiss your problematic zits goodbye in less than a week.

All Clear Blemish block spot treatment

It's a product by Beauticontrol. It's .08 oz. It's a gel that you put on the acne spot at night. Let it dry. Peel it off the next day. I love it and it lasts a long time. It's $10. Well worth the cost. The skin care sets are phenomenal for controling breakouts in the first place.

Skinlogics for light acne
All Clear for heavier acne

Sets last four to six months depending on if you use them once a day or twice a day. Even the cheapest sets at Wal-mart cost more than these.

Google Beauticontrol to find a consultant near you.

NATURAL ACNE PROTOCOL
1/ Never, ever touch your face.
2/ Use 3 facecloths to wash your face, one to soap on, one to soap off with very hot water, one to rinse off with ice cold water, in that order, once a day.
3/ If you are under 18 take 5,000 IU of vitamin A once a day with a full meal
4/ If you are over 18 take 5,000 IU of vitamin A twice a day with a full meal.
Do not get pregnant while taking vitamin A. Do not take any more, like Accutane, it will stop you growing.
5/ Never, ever. pick, squeeze or pop your spot. Read number 1 again.
6/ Do this for 90 days.
7/ Invest in a brand new pillow and 2 new or more pillow cases to double bag' your pillow. HOT wash every couple of days.

A bit of advice given to me as a teenager, a bit of science as I am studying allergic reactions and vitamin A is a part of that. A bit of research: I sat in a lecture at the back and watched the acne prone pick at their faces, those with the worse acne touched their faces 32 times in an hour, the clearest complexions didn't touch their faces even once. I have circumstantial evidence that acne is the result of dermatophyte transfer from hands to face...where it does not get washed off and is well fed by hormones, sweat a
nd oil...just a hypothesis... But it would explain why vitamin A is so effective as vitamin causes skin to remove dermatophytes.

The secret is never to touch the spots

Well, I haven't heard anything about those two, but I've heard wonderful things about ProActive as well as the Skinceuticals acne treatment.

I've tried them both.
And they don't work.
I use ProActive spot treatment, which honestly, works wonders. The inflamation/redness goes away overnight.

If you have badly harsh acne on your face or on your neck then you should try out Walden' plan

Of course neutrogena is more effective as it contain more salicylic acid and other plant extract that will help reduce the redness, but clean & clear is more cheap as it does not contain ingredients that reduce redness and only contain 0.5% salicylic acid.

use proactive twice a day and clean and clear 3-4 times in a week.. depends on your skin...c&c makes your skin look really dry. and i mean REALLY DRY. but it works.

personally i found neither of them to be very effective. i use clearpores now and it works really good. but if i had to choose between the two, clean and clear would be my choice.
