I wouldn't worry about your dogs actions too much. I have two small, mixed breed female dogs, mother and daughter, and a male cat. The mother (Kaos) tries to hump the daughter (Angelica) and Angelica tries to hump the cat (Kat). I found that these antics generally occur when they are in a playful mood, which is quite often as they are very happy and active dogs...and Kat too!

I find it slightly appalling that people will have a pet and not learn its respective animal's behaviors. Dogs "humping" anything(the only time it is sexual is when it is actually trying to breed with a female dog that is in heat) isn't something to get cracked up about, it is the dog's way of showing its dominance to what-ever it is "humping", and if it is doing that to the person/people that are supposed to be its masters, that is wrong. Don't let the dog do it.

regrettably there is not any particular breed to in shape your standards as all canines have unique personalities and can behave very in yet in a various way whether they're a similar breed. canines are many times apprehensive of youngsters via fact they make speedy strikes, loud noises and don't continually handle animals as gently as they could. the excellent subject to do is to coach the toddlers approximately the thank you to guard your canine and continually supervise their interactions. As for the cats, returned it only relies upon. many times if the canine has been raised around cats they are going to be ok. your superb determination could be to flow to a glance after (the place the excellent canines are got here upon!) and communicate over your standards with an adoption councellor there. they many times attempt the canines with toddlers and cats, so which you would understand in develop whether the canine which you like will slot wherein incorporate your existence variety.

Uhhh... don't take this the wrong way... but it's a dog... dogs like to breed and they don't care with what, the phrase "horn dog" came from dogs cause they are horny.

Getting him fixed probably won't do much... a little age will... I am guessing your dog is younger, it's common - especially with Chihuahuas.

Your dog is dominating the cat not trying yo mate with it. Cats and dogs cannot do that.

It might help slow down his sex drive, however it's probably just a dominance thing. He's showing the cat that he's the boss of the household, it's not really a problem unless it bothers you or the cat.

Neutering him will help, somewhat. I have a bloodhound that humps my cat too! Once they start this they usually don't stop this behavior. I can't believe our cats let this happen! Ah the humility of it all!!!

You should really get him fixed. It will reduce his 'temptations' or 'urges' as you may call them, but it even reduces many desieses. If you're looking for multiple opinions, (the pros and cons) http://www.terrificpets.com/forum/37879.asp
You know, Bob Barker says always spay and neuder your pets, so he must be right!
