Get a Boot Manager, it will give you a screen upon boot to choose from, unless you didn't partition the hard drive, if not you are screwed or in this case xp is better than vista, so your o.k. When you install two OS's, Put one on a partitioned hard drive, and the other on the second part of the partition, if not, you will screw it up and overwrite important files.. Good luck

pfeffer5308 - I have heard that the older OS needs to be on the second partition, and it will need it's own drivers for hardware and software too.....

UPDATE:

I'm telling you, if you don't want headaches and heartaches, Vista First then XP

you need to have dual partitions. One for XP and one for Vista. Then you need a boot menu so that you can select which one to boot to first. I have heard that it is best to install the XP partition first. Anyone else heard this?

Look up Boot.ini then BootLoader then Dual Boot. With Linux it's easy , sorta. Backup all that stuff you want to keep from XP that is Compliant with Vista and then run one OS. It will be better on the hardware if only one is phoning home at every boot up.
