I hear the risk of birth defects increas around 35, but if you are a overall healthy person, then I don't think anything there's anything wrong with having a child at 30. My mother had me when she was 37, I was a 1 month old premie though. You might want to look up more information say maybe on webmd.com. Mayoclinic.com Talk with your doctor as well. Also know that any potential enviornmental factors, and health factors can change some individuals' outcomes. Everyone is different.

I think 30 is a perfect time to have a child, for all of the reasons you mentioned above. That being said, it's a very personal decision and you have to do what's best for you and your partner. I was 35, and while that was a good age for me in many ways, I don't have the energy that I should.

I think its a good age. I plan on having another child but I want to wait till my other kids are older and all in school. I'm 27 now and my yungest is 2 so I figure I'll be between the age of 31 to 35.

sure, but it will depends on how many your want. the risk of birth defects goes up after 35. if you want 3 or 4 kids and start at 30, you're looking at pretty much constant pregnancy if you want to get them all in before 35.

That's a good idea. However, make sure you are married before you give birth to your child no matter at what the age you are at the time of your pregnancy. For the sake of your child and your self-esteem.

That is WONDERFUL. I wish more people would be responsible like that. Waiting until you are a little older is good. Not that young parents don't do a good job... But if that is what seems right for you, go for it. There is nothing wrong with that!

If you wait until you're "ready" to have kids, you'll never have them. There never be enough money, or whatever.
As far as the age...as long as you're healthy why not? Go for it.
Good luck!!
