Can I drink tap water directly in Canada?
e.g. in Ontario

Is it bad for health? I saw some Canadians do so.

Thank you!

Here in canada we have some the best drinking water, lakes and river are not polluted and we have higher than normal standard for drinking water standards.

I was a chef in Canada for 20 yrs, and worked in 6 of the 10 provinces and territories plus a stint in Jamaica, there are some very good spring and bottled water here, but the tap water is free and has not killed me as of yet and I am almost 50 yrs old

You should be able to drink the tap water directly in Canada, but you would probabably find it easier to use a glass or a cup. Trying to get your head under the faucet can be awkward.

(In case you're asking if the water in Canada is safe to drink, I would say it's as safe to drink as it is in the U.S.)

You can drink tap water DIRECTLY in Canada, but it is easier if you put it in a glass first.

LOL, yes you can drink tap water in Canada!
Both the US and Canada have very nice water purification plants and modern plumbing to deliver it all to you. Enjoy not being poisoned. =)

For the most part .....yeah. In some rural places they get their water from a well though so it is best to ask before drinking. In suburban places and cities though it is alright.

"In wine there is wisdom, in beer there is strength, and in water there is bacteria" Canadian beer is much, much better than American "beer" (I use that term loosely). You shouldn't be wasting your time with water while you are in our great country. It sounds like you are just visiting, so I advise you to enjoy the beer while you're here eh!

To be safe, don't drink tap water anywhere, including Canada.
