Whenever someone knocks on the door our dog goes crazy. She acts like a "mad dog". Her hair stands up on the back of her neck! Otherwise she is a very sweet dog.

you are the pack leader, don't open the door until the dog is in the sit stay position far back from the door, you could practice this with a family member coming to the door for training purposes, or train the dog to kennel up when someone comes to the door, just try to use positive training method not force, this will only send the wrong signals to the dog ( like, what going on why are you excited is something wrong.) be kind and firm

#1. Walk your dog every day for 30-45 minutes. While on the walk, you lead the dog, not the other way around. The dog can't stop and smell things or pee on things. They just have to follow you.
#2. Put the dog on a leash and practice. When someone knocks on the door, don't answer until the dog has achieved a calm state of mind. Practice over and over until the dog gets it right and reward only positive behavior.

I would put her on a leash and choke chain. Have someone outside to ring the doorbell. When the dog acts up I would make her sit and be still. Then open the door. Repeat this until you've retrained her to be still. It's ok for her to want to protect you, but she still needs to be under your control.

Repeat this training as necessary...she'll eventually get it!

A dog should be trained on how to eat, walk with you, not to bark, potty training and sleep on its place etc. You can teach anything to your puppy, dogs get trained easily with some good instructions. If you want some good training tips visit https://tr.im/liHoN

If properly trained, they should also understand whistle and gesture equivalents for all the relevant commands, e.g. short whistle or finger raised sit, long whistle or flat hand lay down, and so on.

It's important that they also get gestures and whistles as voice may not be sufficient over long distances and under certain circumstances.

Act like you're going nuts when this happens. Jump around and stuff. Your dog will stop and just stare at you like you're crazy.

i think the only really way to get a dog use to people is by letting them "know people" bring your dog ou to parks where there are lots of people. when your dog barks yank on the leach reward your dog when he/she walks past a stranger without barking.
