That was a British film crew looking to stir up trouble! They were harassing Jews on Shabbat!
Chrstians weren't even allowed in Israel under Arab rule. And no harm came to those people besides their pride.

People who don't know history are either ignorant or stupid. Chrstians and Jews weren't considered clean enough for the holy land. They were also second class citizens (dhimmis) under Arab rule--in order to keep their right to live amongst the clean Arabs, they had to pay a fee.

Those who claim that Christians were not allowed in the Holy Land under Arab rule are either ignorant, or liars. Christians, Muslims, and Jews lived peaceably for most of the centuries, except for the crusades, and then from the beginning of colonialization.
