lives? that is got to be furthest from the truth. Just because someone is not religious does not mean they want to be evil it just means they may not want to follow through with one straight belief. There are so many spiritual people out there with more love in their lives then in a lot of people. It just does not make sense when some religious people judge non religious ones.

Because they believe that their religion is the source for all good. Or they believe that being good is not what gets you into their idea of heaven; they believe its about accepting god in the way that their religion teaches........I know that it is better to be good and reject religious dogma. Spirituality comes from within therefore is truth, religion attempts to make all conform to a dogma outside what their inner voice is saying, therefore its false.

Well, I don't know if you have read the bible or not, or how far you have read it, but there is a part in the bible that says that God can forgive all sins except one, which is that one precisely, not having any faith in God. I think that every single religion thinks that their way it's the best way of following Jesus, I'm studying the whole religion situation, and they go literally by every single word that the bible says without even knowing that the bible itself has been writing in a way, I forgot the word they use in my class, in which you'd really have to study it and really go deep behind the whole thing to find the real meaning of what it's been said.
Another thing, you do have a point in not understanding why people criticize or point fingers at others just because those other people don't believe the same way, but you know, the first one that is clean of sin let him/her throw the first rock. A lot of people are also afraid of something they don't believe or never seen or known about.

I know many moral and good people who have no faith at all.

But, if morality were the end all of Christianity, then Jesus died on a cross for nothing. Our innate goodness has nothing to do with entry into God's kingdom.

Receiving the gift of God through Jesus Christ is what counts. There are innumerable people who sit in church, who lead good lives, and think that is enough. So many believe that it is about morality or being good. But God is not going to be obligated to anyone, and Jesus didn't come to make bad people good. He came to make dead people live. (Ephesians 2:1-2)

We are told that it is our sins that separate us from God, and that if we break one, we are guilty of all. (James 2:10)

That is why we need a Savior. That is what Jesus did for us. He paid our fine - took our punishment, and substituted His perfect life for our sinful one, so that we could receive grace and mercy with the Father. (Romans 3:25)

Those who trust in anything other than that will have to defend their whole life before a Holy God, and try to justify their sin. They will be doomed as a result. It is a shame that people refuse to take what is free that would save them from that.

Your words "why do some religious people" .... Its only some religous people, the ignorant ones.. I am a Jehovas Witness and we believe that if you are given the opportunity to learn about Jehova and choose not to follow his way you have been given your chance and you passed. Now some ignorant people from there say you are going to hell but if those who truely know Jehova will tell you his is very understanding and forgiving and will see into your heart first. Now if you pass on learning about him and Also bad talk about God in general then of course he has no place in his heart for you.....

By the way God (Jehova) only asks for you to follow his way for your own good. We follow Gods words not a church's words like some religions asking crazy things of you like putting ashs on your forhead, pointless!! While we choose not to celebrate Pagan holidays like Halloween and we get called crazy, thats nonsense.. but thats also another subject.

Don't forget, Christ did not hang around the church, he lived on the streets, did home tutoring for room and board, and was known to help sinners and prostitutes and good people who were homeless.

Religion doesn't convert people. People convert them self, or no.

I knew a guy that could tell you the page number, chapter, paragraph, line number, and the authors name, but he still was mean and bad spirited.

And the church going bunch have bullies too.

"religion" is a dirty word, first of all. It's much too broad to describe what I believe you're intending to describe.

Second of all, if by religion you're referring to 'Christians' - than it's not a matter of non-religious people not being good moral living people;

"It's a matter of them not having a right relationship with God."
(emphasizing the phrase "Right Relationship with God" --- which is a very personal thing. No one else can bring someone else into a right relationship with God. They have to make that decision theirself.)

Because they feel that their religious book has all of the answers to everything when it comes to morals. They also feel that they have a higher standard that they are judged by then everybody else. Some also feel that non religious people get their morals from society either that or by satan himself. I asked them this question and those were some of the responses they gave me it's in my profile feel free to peak around.

Ever since the fall and with sin entering this economy, man's concepts got all messed up. Sincereity is not the same as truth. God deals with us now through revelation of who He is, and we find that out by what is written in the Bible!!

Whose standards do people go by?
If you go by your own, how do you come to those decisions?
If you decide your own morals, how did you come up with this?
If everyone has their own morals, on what basis do we judge when two do not agree?
There is an absolute Truth with absolute values beneficial for mankind.
His name is Counselor, Wonderful, Prince of Peace.
Jesus Christ.

Anyone can be a good person but no one can be good enough to enter Heaven based on what they do here on earth. So, what then is the reason for living a good life? In the end all the goodness in the world will not get you what you will most desire.
