I had mine cauterized to stop frequent nose bleeds in the winter. Dry tissues would crack the vessels coming from my sinus floor. I had it done about 10 years ago and maybe have only one a year now. I was very happy with the results after healing. One thing I wish I'd had tried is warm nasal rinse.

A full warm water saline rinse goes in one nostril and out the other. It soothes with warmth, it draws out the entire gunk and shrinks the tissue (like swimming in the ocean, but without the eye stinging). It will help with nasal dryness and also heal damage.

Buffered salt doesn't 'sting' as much as plain salt water. You can use a new method like Nasopure, or the vintage, Netipot

You can do this as often as you like with no side effects.

hold an ice cube to the back of your head, right where the neck meets it. This will constrict the blood supply and should stop the nose bleed. You can also plug your nostrils with gauze or tissues until it clots. Also when sneezing, see if you can't direct the sneeze more out your mouth.

Do you live in a cold region? If so, your air in your house is too dry and it dries out the mucous membranes of the nasal passages.
Try a cool mist humidifier in your room at night. It should resolve the problem. If you are having heavy nose bleeds, you may need to have a capillary or vein cautherized by a physician.

You may need a allergy nasal spray, and an allergy pill this has happened to my son . My sons nose would bleed 4 times per week for no reason ,and the blood had plenty of clots. This is normal but you need to see your DOCTOR now to talk with him about the spray and pills. Please contact you doctor your blood count may become affected within time. (The reason was my son had allergies.)
Good Luck!!!!

It is probably Osler Weber Rendu disease. Nothing deadly usually. Most of my family has a form of it. It's genetic. Nosebleeds are usually the first symptom, mine was tiny purple spots on my hands and one on lip. But it's ok. There are a lot worse things to have.

You should use some kind of saline spray to stop it from bleeding and make sure the air isn't dry. If it doesn't stop contact your doctor.

Seems a doctor answered this question some time ago.

Could be dry weather, or indoor heat, no humidity, etc.

Take a look at what they said on this answer.
