I think it's a great quote and by the way for the people who commented before me, if we hadn't gone to war with Great Britian would America even exist like it does today?

Yes, I do believe that the phrase is correct. Mostly of what comes out of war is death but sometimes if the reason (the why) is strong enough and good enough then something else might come out and the why we fight is considered "good". The American Revolution and the US Civil War were fought with good intentions but it came at a deathly price.

I agree. War is an ugly thing but at times it's the only way. Not that EVERY war has gone on for good reasons though.

I hate war and the idea of it. Back in the day when two villages had a problem with each other, their kings would fight in it. I like that better. It's their fault that the war started in the first place. They should die for what they believe in, not their loyal citizens.

it depends on the war. In some wars i would totally disagree with this but if it was a war to like save a group of people then I would agree with it

There can be a good reason to fight a war. One example would be to protect your country when attacked. There are not many good reasons however.

not really because i think some wars need to be fought.. examples: american revolutionary war, american civil war... and several others...
because some wars have resulted in great things in advancing humanity... however some wars that are being fought have no real good cause. and therefore no good in why we are fighting it either.
basically i think some wars are justified... and some aren't (example - war in iraq).

Yes and no, I dont understand why here outside of the military an ordinary person can kill someone and get sent to prison for life but everyday our govenment is sending our men and women out to kill innocent people with no punishment, just praises. I am so anti war
