I work in a sign shop where I am a designer along with another person. I don't smoke, a total of three people smoke, one smokes outside and respects that I and many customers are nonsmokers. The second smokes but leaves the door open while smoking in the doorway. The third owns the shop, has boxes of cigarettes in the fridge and resently bought a giant cigar humidafier for his stupid brand new boxes of cigars.

You are obviously lucky enough to live in a state that has not passed laws detailing what people can do in a private business. PTL.

I would look for another job in a non-smoking environment. You do have free-will, and you don't have to work there. That is what America is all about, unless you live in a fascist state that regulates every possible personal choice.

If they are all forced to go outside to smoke, they will all be bonding while you are inside, being left out of the loop, and doing the work.

If you want to stay at that job then, at your own expense you should buy an air purifier for your desk and stop complaining. You could end up fired for any little screw-up.

I don't smoke, but I do second hand smoke daily. It is a choice I have made.

Unless there is a municipal or city/state law, there is nothing you can do. You could check with the Health and Safety Board that regulates employee work environments to see if there are any rules that apply as it seems that the owner isn't obliged to provide a smoke-free work environment.

ok - discovered it - "no one would smoke in a public place, or in everywhere of employment." that could be a state ordinance. I stay in Issaquah, Washington. Seattle has much greater regulations. i do no longer smoke, so I had to look it up.

If your city or state doesn't have a band on smoking in public buildings you are not going to be able to stop them.

Maybe wear one of those face masks as if you were sick - they might get the hint!
I don't see talking to them as any help; if the store owner smokes, he is not going to change it...

He owns the place you don't. When you come to his shop you're in his world. How would you like it if he came to your house and started telling you what to do? Don't like it go work somewhere's else. That's life kiddo. The world doesn't revolve around you.
