Gorillas are not our ancestors, they are our co-descendants.

Sorry - I take that back. The person above me is clearly a lower form of life.

ever even heard of dna? for a gorilla to be a gorilla, it has to have 48 chromosmes and the genetic patterns that make it a gorilla. different patterns, different creature. different number of chromosomes, different creature.

human = 46 chromosomes (unless non-disjunction occurs, whereas you have 47 or 45) and the genetic patterns that make us human.

if a gorilla had one less chromosme, technically it's closer to a human, no? but it's still a gorilla. if you try and take away 2 chromosomes, then you just messed up the spectrum and it won't live.

in terms of behavior, they have the mental aptitude of a four year old child at best. there are animals that aren't even primates that are smarter, such as the grey parrot

A) Gorillas are not "ancestors" of us. They are more like biological "cousins"...different branches of the same tree.

B) Koko is indeed very human-like. Exceptionally intelligent for her species.

C) If another species were indeed to develop human intelligence, I would be inclined to call them "human" (or at least "human-like")...as opposed to "homo-sapiens".

My dog is very human. He wants to understand me when I talk so badly. I can see it in his eyes, but like the gorilla - he's not human.

Maybe in your primordial brain they are. They are beasts.......that's all, no more no less.........God and the Word of God made us in Their image, not a monkey's. But I know you cannot possibly understand the truth of God because you think you're so much like a monkey that you probably are in your own mind. So sad. You will be the one that will suffer for it, not the monkey.

They'd have to be sufficiently "human-like" to interbreed with us to be called "human".

And I'll leave the rest of the answer to your imagination.
