Is it true that the slimmest wallet gets the ugliest gal?

In the passion charged pastures of romance is it true that matters of the heart have been taken over by more practical concerns. Seems like dating these days is a battle of beauty and the wallet. Gals getting nose jobs, boob jobs, tummy tuck, fanny tuck, anti wrinkle, etc. etc to get a leg up on the looks department. The guys on the other hand are desperately scrambling to stash their wallets. When the twain meet the cutest one seems to inevitably fall for the most decadently attired ape. Is it really so, or are there some fools still left around looking for "true love"?
