Yes. My experience was different from those of the other posters. I've been hypnotized a few times for different things. None of them worked. (for example, for quitting smoking and I had a cigarette right after my session lol.) It's not a bad experience though...you are fully aware of everything around you including what the hypnotist says. You are in control. You have full control of your mind. But if the hypnotist says that your arm is very heavy and you can't lift it up, you will not be able to lift it up. It is really quite fascinating. That part was very cool for me...to see that you really do get hypnotized. But other than that, it's pretty much like being relaxed and having someone talk to you. It's not strange or scary...you remember everything....As far as whether or not it works, I guess it depends on the person. Like I said, it's never worked for me, but it sounds like it's worked for the others who have posted.

Yes- I have it really is scary. It is like watching a movie . I was suddenly back home at my parents house. ( I Was away at college and we did it as a joke with the crazy girl from Boston. She had dated a shrink or something from upstate New York
I have had this terrible feeling all my life about a back bedroom in our old house. When she did her hypnosis tricks on me- I started to seewhat had happened in that room, Anyways- I scared everyone in the room. Myself even more- I think she was the most scared of all because she stopped her procedure. I never found out what happened

Yes; it was an interesting experience. It was sort of a waking daydream - a feeling of distance from what was going on around me, but not scary in any way. It was very relaxing, and I would have no hesitation about doing it again.

Yes, To quit smoking and it did work.
I didn't think I was hypnotized but didn't crave cigarettes anymore afterwards.
