... you knew had a problem with depression? would that make you not want to get involved?

let's say the depression is being managed by medication, it is only a problem once in a while, about as often as a non-depressed woman gets PMS.

i luv this topic. why?. cuz i have depression. i strongly believe that guys should overlook this so-called "handicap". they have medicine for depression, and feeling alone doesnt exactly help the person either. it's good to help the person the best you can, whether it be a simple compliment or a call for help (911). It's not fair by judging them because they have depression. Just because they have it doesnt mean they have a totally different outlook on life, it's just altered slightly.

I was with a girl who had bi-polar/depression issues two different times, both for over a year.
It was hard on me.
I loved her but she was irrational as hell. She would get mad for no reason, cry for no reason, get paranoid and jealous and start fights. I struggled with it a lot becuase there were times when I couldn't help her feel better and other times she would just get lathargic and not do anything. She would skip class, not go to work, and if I tried to tell her that she should get out and that she needs to go to school and work she would get really hurt and say I didn't understand. In light of these things, yes, I would avoid a girl with depression issues becuase, as I learned, I am not a strong enough person to be what she needed.

Someone with depression needs time to work through their problems and get back into their happy place. Having a boyfriend or girlfriend doesnt help situations, and if they stay with them because they are frightened of what would happen to them if they left, its not healthy for either party.

My ex had many emotional problems, and after 4 months of drama, I had to break it off as it was dragging me down too.

2 days after we broke up, he was admitted to the psych ward and got some help. Unfortunately he has had issues most of his life, and will never get over them.

Yes as fast as I could. That line for "better or worse" is a invitation to disaster because it lets people stay sick or stupid. If she will not get her head on straight you could spend the rest of your life with a basket case.
