No, you just have to go into the DMV and renew it. No test. You just pay a small fee.

Most jurisdictions have a "grace period" for renewing a license. Where I live you can renew up to 5 years after the expiry of your license and not have to be retested. If you exceed that time however you have to start all over again. You should check with the DMV where you live and find out what the time limitations are there.

It means the time period for which it was issued is over and if you want to keep the license you must renew it. This is the same for driver license, vehicle, whatever license you may have. If it is for a vehicle, if you live in an area that requires emission testing, then you would need to get that done as well.

Depends on the state you're in. In NY, you simply pay a fee and your license is renewed. The only time you have to take a test again is when you've been mandated to do so by DMV (usually because of age, court request because of driving history) or to change to a CDL.

It depends, if you are talking about the license plate, you would need to pay the fee for a new sticker.
If you are talking about the card with your picture on it, then yes in most states they require that you at least take the written test again.

It's just a minor "ooops" moment unless it expired years ago. Go renew it.
