she goes to bed at 730 pm & now sleeps till 530am but is then ready to get out of bed. I'm just dragging. She used to wake up 2 times per night because she was used to getting the boob everytime she woke up. Then she slept till at least 7 am. I just weaned her off the night feedings slowly over the past 2 weeks. Do you think she just needs time to adjust to this new uninterupted sleep before she decides to stay in bed longer? Is there something I can do to convince her to go back to sleep at 530 am? should I maybe send my husband in her rm that early in the morning to put her back to sleep? All she wants when she wakes up is her boobi and after that she wont sit still anymore. Maybe I should not give her the boob that early. Maybe I should wait till at least 6 am to give it to her? has anyone been through this? what did u do.
Also please dont answer this if you are just gonna apprehend
me about still breastfeeding. To each his own!

I'm all for breastfeeding, so no problem here! As for the sleeping, 10 hours of straight sleep is not unreasonable at that age. You may want to try to adjust her bedtime by 1/2 hour later and see if that helps her sleep in a little more. Also, you may want to shorten her naps during the day slightly.

I went through this schedule adjustment, breastfeeding issue with my first, too. Hang in there and just make small adjustments here and there to get the both of you to a schedule you can agree on!! Good luck!

Many babies/toddler wake more frequently when they are reaching a developmental milestone -such as walking. In fact most sleep researchers have noted a sharp increase in night-waking (requiring parental intervention) around 18 months. You might find that he sits up before he wakes up and then doesn't know a) how he got there or b) what to do. My son did that starting at 6 months, for awhile at a year he would actually stand before waking up. And he did that before he had really learned to get down from standing (even during the day). Also when learning a new skill a toddler may need more calories but eat less during the day because they are busy. Combine that with a "restless mind" because he is learning a new skill and you get some restless nights. Unless you really have clear evidence that he isn't hungry I would continue under the assumption that he is. Afterall even solid food should digest in less than 4 hours. In all likelihood he will go back to sleeping through all on his own.

Wow! 7:30 to 5:30 am? That is amazing she sleeps that long at that age!!! I was lucky if any one of my 4 kids slept past 5am! LOL!!! How many naps per day does she get? How long does she sleep during each nap? Personally I think she is just wide awake because she had a good solid nights sleep. You might try laying her down a little later at night. Try laying her down at 8:30 pm and maybe she will sleep a little longer.
After 10 hours of sleep she is most likely ravenous and wants to eat and then play. I don't think you can convince a 13 month old to stay asleep a little longer.
Good luck!

Have you tried putting her to bed a little bit later. Maybe working your way in 30 minute intervals to figure out how much time she needs to sleep that will get her to wake up at the time you are wanting her to? Maybe since she isn't waking up in the middle of the night anymore and feeding, she is getting more rest and is finished resting earlier. I wouldn't just try to keep her up an 1 1/2 hours after her normal bed time the first time, but maybe you could try slowly moving it back.
