Honey, I don't think that you have a mental disorder, i think you're just a normal teen going through some serious crap.
what you're going through with your cousin is a frightening thing. And as far as your "rages" those could be normal hormonal stuff also. It's a rough time of life being your age.
I would suggest finding someone to talk to that you trust. Your parents, or school counselor perhaps. Maybe they can get you into a therapist just to beable to talk about whats going on with your rages.

That's a very good question. When I was 17 I had a furious rage about me. I'm 35 and still have a temper but have mellowed out tremendously since then. Age. Possibly hormone type thing, I'm not a medical doctor. You might try some tranquilizers perhaps by doctor prescription. Also work on in therapy any role models that had furious rage type tempers to undo how you learned to imitate a respected parent or loved one and their way of dealing with stress. There are county clinics for free counseling you can go to. Look in the phone book. Drive around or walk around. They're there.

Or possibly get an after school job so that you don't have the energy left to go into a rage after school all day and work all night.

You have a good reason to be fearful and angry. At 17 I used to have rages, and I put it down to things that hadn't really been resolved and would come up and I would end up throwing things etc. As soon as I talked about some of the stuff in my life that was bothering me and that kept resurfacing, the rages slowly passed and I never get them any more. I would recomend speaking to a relative, friend or even better a counsiller who will be able to help you. You may have depression etc but personally I just think it's just a whole lot of crap that's built up that you need to just tell someone and find some strategies to move on and make life less stressful for yourself in the future.

Good Luck

That's pretty messed up about your cousin. Why would he want to do such a thing?

If you're physically able, I'd beat the crap out of him and hold HIM at gun point. That would get out some rage and maybe teach him a lesson. Or maybe take his balls, like in Fight Club. Just wear a mask, apparently the cops in your area are so retarded that they can't catch a masked robber, how would they find a masked ball-taker?

That should fix your rage problem.

Well I would say you have a mental problem; if not anything else PTSD. That and maybe frustration and fear if your sure you know who held you at gun point but the police won't believe you.

Consult a Dr's office. about Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) by phone if you are too afraid to go outside. Look up PTSD on Yahoo! search to get some info about what it's like.

It sounds like you are going through a really rough time. You should talk to an adult that you trust to give you good advice. If you don't have anyone like that, then talk to the counselors at school. They generally are trained to handle problems similar to yours. Maybe they can help you. Take Care!

If you are that upset then I think you should talk to someone, be it you parents, a brother or sister, a therapist, or even your friends. No matter what, you need to let it out and ask someone for help, because people can't help unless they know what's wrong.

getting help couldn't hurt. You may be paranoid, or possibly bi-polar. Help could only help you. You may have a small case of PTSD (It would be mild if it was, but hey, I'm no dodtor....yet.)
