Blood pressure is the force in the arteries when the heart beats (systolic pressure) and when the heart is at rest (diastolic pressure). It's measure in millimeters of mercury (mm Hg). You have high blood pressure (or hypertension) if you are an adult with blood pressure readings greater than 140 mm Hg systolic or greater than 90 mm Hg diastolic.

A simple visit to your Doctor will tell. They will use a sphygmomanometer and a stethescope to check your BP

Basically it is high blood pressure and it can be detected the usual ways, and also if you have dizziness, rapid heart rate and pressure in your chest and head. It can be controlled, like with me, with altered diet and meds. A normal pressure for a middle age man is around 170/80 but even better is 160/60.

High blood pressure and at times the only way to detect it is with a blood pressure machine. It can even cause a stroke. You can buy some very good BP machines at most drug stores..
