I have a female black lab, she is around 8 and we call her Maddi. It suits her well. Have you tried yelling the name you are thinking of. In case pup gets away from you you need to be able to yell its name of course, if it sounds stupid when you yell it out then you need to rethink it.
In a few years we would like a yellow lab which I hope to call Libbie or Isobel, izzie or bella for short. If she were a boy I would probably call her Jaxon, Ashby, Brodie or Carlton.
Labs are wonderful pets, be sure to check those hips and elbows. Maddi was like a puppy until she turned 5, bit hard to control-we don't have puppy training were we live. She, like all labs love wading in any water so am hoping your new pup will get lots of chances to get into the ocean.

Is it going to be a boy or girl? That would help me make some better suggestions. Otherwise I like Onyx, and if they are black and white how about Domino? Or Ink, Jet Black, Mrki which means Black, Ebony, Asphalt, Blackberry, Shadow, Midnight, Carbon, Storm or Stormy, Raven, Warlock, and thats about all I can think of. Good Luck with your new puppy! :)

I have a black Lab and his name is Knuckle Head. His nick name is Knuckles.

It is a wierd name but his origional owner called him "Jack Daniel" after the beer.

The reason we call him Knuckles is because when we first got him, on the way home in the car he wouldnt stop licking the window, then as soon as we got home, we put him in the grass and he ran straight into the pool and almost drowned, and he would only pee on my kids' trampoline. (but now he doesnt cause we dont have it anymore. l0l)

Thats why people say that you should wait to see its personality. I know it is hard to wait, but from it's personality, you can name it the best name that you possibly could..........

Have a long, fun, happy, and healthy life with your new black lab pup!

P.S. they make great pets and be sure that you teach it "fetch." It loves tennis balls and mine couldnt live without an hour devoted espically to fetch. l0l. Labs make GREAT pets! :) have fun!

I have a female boxer named Lily. If she was a male dog I would have named her Winston. My friend has a male Yorkie named Tattletale. My sister-in-law has a male lab mix named Zander. Hope this helps!!
