When my ex's nephew turned 6, we got him a tent. It folded up into something transportable, and it wasn't very big - just a small, kid's pup tent that could fit him and maybe one other person. He LOVED it!

It really depends on the child and how much you are willing to spend.

All boys seem to love match box cars and the tracks that go with it, and bikes.

Action figures (spiderman, power rangers, wrestling, transformers etc.)

some really do like to get clothes.

you could get a game boy or such. Ds is over 100$

any type of sports things.

oh my gosh i can keep going

It really depends on the boy's personality... but the science kits from the smithsonian and discovery etc are really fun for parents and kids to do together...

Based on my own son: Spy stuff. Superhero stuff. Magic set. Practical joke tricks (like fake poo and such). Comics. Craft stuff. Ben 10 stuff (cool show about a boy who can turn into different superheros). etc.
