I guess I'm the odd one out...lol. My girls were both around a month, give or take. I painted their toenails while they were sleeping.

You can defenitely start painting them whenever you feel comfortable doing so. Just remember that they must dry, so it might be difficult at times getting her to stay still. Of course, she has little toenails, so it won't take too long for them to dry. The only question I would ask about that is is it dangerous if she sucks on them or chews the paint off. It isn't harmful to us because we are older, but it might be a little no-no for her. I don't know for sure, just a thought ! :]

If your girls are into that and you think they are too young start with clear or a sheer colour so that still feel pretty. Doing the girly dress up things with them will be nice. I don't think there is a right age for toenails to be painted.

I started painting my daughters' nails and toenails this year, age 3. Since she no longer puts her fingers in her mouth I figured I would try,and she asked me to paint them for her. I did and she stood still and I showed her to fan her hand to dry them.I guess a good time to start would be when she don't put her fingers in her mouth or toes and she stays still.

Well my mom wouldn't ;et us wear any sort of make up, including nail polish, until middle school. I know a lot of parents like that.

At the same time nail polish REALLY stinks, its worse then those markers that have warnings on them that people snoff to get high. I don't really like nail polish!!

However I do remember my first nail polish bieng this cute pink stuff that was not like adult nail polish. It was made just for kids, it didn't stink, it dried fast and it washed off with soap and water (which is great for kids who are younger and don't sit still and wait for them to dry and it smears onto something.)

I think I would let my child wear that kind as a "dress up" kind of thing if she were in elementry school. I would be careful though to differentiate it as dressing up then acting grown-up or sexy.

I think she was about 5 or 6. We would have make-up time and paint our toes and fingernails and put on make-up and have all sorts of fun. So paint those toe nails and have a great time.

My little girl was about 15 months old and I would always paint her toe nails with a light color. Then when she turned about 2 I would paint them with the color that I was painting my and she loves it. It makes her so happy and she goes around showing everyone.

I started painting my daughter's nail before she was a year old.Now that she is 3, she still loves it and wants me to paint her nails.I use this nail polish for little girls, you can put it on and it's easy to take off because it peels right off and dries quick. You might want to try that.
