Tell them that they are wrong. Boston is a nice town, and a very liable city, but it isn't NY.

It isn't a stupid question at all. I'm not sure which is the lesser of the two evils, but I would hazard a guess that Boston would be a safer city to live in. I live about 35 miles from there, but hardly ever go. Not much reason to really, I guess.

Tell them that the Boston Celtics are an accurate reflection of their city. I've never been, but I have a few friends in school there. I hear its a sleepy town, everything shuts down at like 6pm. Get on their case about that.

Personally, I like NYC better for shopping, dining, shows, people watching.
Boston is more fun for drinking though.
