I want to open an online store as an extension of my shop i currently lease in the mall. I have a credit card terminal that i use in the store to slide cards and I can enter the numbers manually but I want a way to verify the cvc code to prevent getting stolen cards; as i have in the past. I've heard from people that there is an online service that you subscribe to for a fee that will verify the cvc code when the credit card number is entered. I would greatly appreciate any help you can offer.

Thanks

Actually, if you check with your credit card machine company, they do require additional information when you "enter" the numbers maually, enter the CVC and some of them require to enter the address. You should shop around for the merchant service.
Yahoo Store does come with the credit card service, if you want to build a store, they will use their verification method. They will do the number sum checking (to see if the numbers are valid), then verify the address and CVC code
