The age of consent in my state is 16. I'm not the parents of these kids. The 17-year-old's parents have no problems with the relationship.

If the age of consent is 16 and you're not the parent, I don't think there's much you can do. If you're friends with the 17 year old, you can try to invite him/her to do other things and try to have more fun away from the 21 year old. But I don't think it'll work.

She's over the age of consent. You're not even the parent. The real parents have no problems. Why would you want to stop this relationship? I think that if they like each other, they should go for it. If it's because of the age, it's not that big of an issue. I've been dating a 22-year-old for 3 months and I'm also 17. The age of consent in my state is 18, though. Anyway, good luck.

well when I was 17, I started dating a 27 year old. almost 2 years later, we're living together and engaged. so your age difference doesn't really seem that big of a deal to me. 17 is almost an adult. it'd be different if she was 13 and you were 17. but as you two get older, the age gap becomes more meaningless. what really matters is that you two care about each other and treat each other with respect. good luck to ya

if the 21 year old isn't getting the 17 yr old in trouble and is a good person, then why not leave them alone. I'm the mother of a 16 year old and she dates a 18 yr old, (18 is age of consent here). He's a great kid and loves my daughter, shows her and the rest of the family the utmost respect. if he were 21 I wouldn't care cause he is a good guy.

There is no real way for you to stop the relationship. It sounds as if you are close to one or both of them, if so take the one you are close to aside, and try and explain why you feel they should slow down and perhaps see each other only as friends till the 17 year old has a bit more time to grow up and mature. (I am not suggesting that she is immature) just the simple fact there is a lot of difference in th maturity of a 17 year old girl and a 19 year old girl.

Umm, you can't. However.. you could always just offer your input, although I'm sure they won't really care what you think unless you're their best friend. If the parents have no problem and they're legal, not much you can do. Basically it's a "mind your own business" type of thing.. :P

You cant stop it, you can voice your opinon but if you stress too hard they will rebel, its not that awful difference anyways.

Well then what is the problem...??

Why do you want to stop them?

If you keep tellling them to stay away from each other... it will just push them together..
