So, my problem is that my friend told me about the Muslim religion. I'm Christian. The idea of changing religion is very appealing. But, I don't know if I should change or not. Here's what she told me:
The Muslim religion was the last religion God made. So, shouldn't the last religion he made be the one everyone follows? She says that you're garanteed the entrance to heaven if your a Muslim. He had abbandoned all the other religions then made Muslimism. The christianity religion was made before The muslim religion. She's very convincing, and I'm stuck. Everyone out there help me out! Make dis desicion 4 me!! P3@C3!!!!

Anyone can sound convincing if they know their stuff.

You should look at both sides of the situation. What are the bad points of Islam? All religions have their downsides. Are all individuals treated equally? Just because it was the last (it wasn't) doesn't mean it was the right one. No religion can guarantee entry into heaven. People who blow themselves up and kill innocent people have committed a most grievous sin, and will not enter into heaven, no matter what their beliefs.
That being said, followed correctly, Islam is a peaceful religion. But I believe sections of it have become distorted and misunderstood. Just as Christianity has in the past (and present).
If you want advice, I would not change religion. You clearly feel uncomfortable enough to post here.
Read all you can about Islam, both the good and the not-so-good, do not get advice from a Muslim or a Christian leader until you understand what conversion entails. You can then ask more informed questions. Do not change just because you feel like a change.

Most importantly, do not listen to anyone who tells you that there is only one way to Heaven. Your conscience is your best guide - if it feels wrong, it generally is wrong.

Well, Islam is not the newest religion. There are a number which were formed after Islam, so if you are looking for the newest thing you may want to try Scientology.

Islam does not guaranty that one will get to heaven, it has rules and requirements. That is why it is called "Islam" which means "submission". If you don't submit or submit incompletely you are not guaranteed heaven.

I think what you want in a religion is "truth". I don't think you should listen to your friend or to me. Both she and I can "sell" a religion but this is a pretty heavy decision and it deserves some time. I suggest you read up before deciding.

As a short but very good survey of Christianity I would suggest "Mere Christianity" by C. S. Lewis.

I tried to find a similar short summary for Islam and there seems to be a lot of web items that compare Islam and Christianity while I think the best way is just to see what Islam has to say for itself. Then you can compare the whole idea of Islam with the whole idea of Christianity.

I hope that helps a little.

God did not make religions. What He did do was reconcile Himself with mankind through Christ Jesus at Calvary. God did that long before the Muslim religion was crafted by men or before the Christan religion was divided among the opinions of other men.

In fact God planned this before the foundation of the world. If God set up one religion after another: Why that means He made a mistake to start with. So what you are being told is that God is not perfect and that He changes. The true Word of God says that He is perfect and that He does not change.

Fellowship with Almighty God is not about what religion you belong to but what relationship you have with Jesus Christ in your own heart. Without that relationship it matters not what religion you have or claim. Only that relationship with Christ Jesus allows entry into heavenly places now or in the future.

This is not a choice of who has the most appealing religion. This is a choice between spiritual life and spiritual death, if indeed the Lord has put a call in your heart.

For yourself & your friend go to http://salemvoice.org/news

First thing no religion will get you into Heaven religion is made by man and has no biblical backing. Second no where in the bible does it mention Muslim or any religion for that matter. Don't let anyone try to get you into any religion because there are so many bad things out there and not knowing the whole truth will only lead you astray. I believe what the bible teaches and only the Bible. We are to live our life as Jesus has laid out for us and we should not take on anything but. I am a God fearing and Jesus loving person but I don't even call my self a Christian for this is another man made word. I would like your friend to show me where he made Muslim-ism and Christianity. And no one is guaranteed an entrance into heaven unless you follow the words of Christ. I would love to talk more but I am running out of space. If you would like to talk more please stop by the site www.thetruthfromabove.com. This is a forum for God, Jesus and Bible discussion. No solicitation of any kind just a free forum for questions and answers. Remember to pray for answers and let God be your lead and make your decision for you. May God Lead your way and God Bless.

Islam (Arabic: الإسلام; al-'islām (help·info)) is a monotheistic religion originating with the teachings of Muhammad, a 7th century Arab religious and political figure. It is the second-largest religion in the world today, with an estimated 1.4 billion adherents, spread across the globe, known as Muslims.[1] Linguistically, Islam means "submission", referring to the total surrender of one's self to God (Arabic: الله, Allāh), and a Muslim is "one who submits (to God)".[2]

Muslims believe that God revealed the Qur'an to Muhammad and that Muhammad is God's final prophet. The Qur'an and the traditions of Muhammad in the Sunnah are regarded as the fundamental sources of Islam.[3][4] Muslims do not regard Muhammad as the founder of a new religion but as the restorer of the original monotheistic faith of Adam, Ibrahim and other prophets whose messages had become corrupted over time (or according to some authorities only misinterpreted).[5][6][7] Like Judaism, Christianity, and the Bahá'í Faith, Islam is an Abrahamic religion.[8]

Today, Muslims may be found throughout the world, particularly in the Middle East and North, West and East Africa. Some of the most populous majority-Muslim countries are in South and Southeast Asia. Other concentrations are found in Central Asia. Only about 20 percent of Muslims originate from Arab countries.[9] Islam is the second largest religion after Christianity in many European countries, such as France, which has the largest Muslim population in Western Europe, and the United Kingdom.[10][11]

There is nothing wrong with adding to the way you beleive as a christian, most beliefs have what other beliefs don't have anyway and it can be used to our own advantage. I believe totally in the king James Bible and will not give ear to a religion that denounces christianity, For example: Muslims are dedicated to prayer and fasting once every week - Now that is unheard of for many religions but as an encouragement to my faith as a christian, I'm working on it and i feel blessed for it.
Rather than judge and condemn other religions for existing why not glean and learn from it, but keeping what you believe as a christian Number One in your life.
Personally i would not trade my christian faith to become muslim, because the truth is they don't beleive Jesus saves and he has already done the atonening, redeemed the world and has the keys to heaven and hell.

Do you trust your immortal soul to just anyone? Your friend, the people here? This is a decision that you must make. I will tell you that there are many problems with Islam. They do not believe that God is God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost. They do not believe that Jesus is the Son of God. They do not believe in the divinity of Jesus Christ, only that He was a prophet. I just do not see where denying Christ will guarantee you a place in heaven. When we, as Christians are initially saved, we are saved from UNBELIEF in Jesus Christ as the Son of God, and as Lord and Savior. So you think about that.

Here is a website that you can go to to check out the facts about Islam. www.carm.org. Look at the upper left hand side of the home page, click on 'search CARM' then type in Islam.

I'm thinking no. First of all...like someone allready stated...they're not too nice to women. Second would be because everyone thinks there religion is great. So why would you change. I think it's a sad thing really. There's always those two religions that are having a tug of war with you... and there is always the religion you stick with. Christianity is a great thing. You should stay with it simply because it's a very free religion. You choose the speed at which you want to advance. If i was to change...i would so be Buddhist. It's natural. I like it. Good luck with youur decision!

I agree with Crazy Horse.
I am a woman who is muslim. Islam is translated as "submission to God". That is the meaning of the word. The muslim people, are like christian, and jews, and considered "People of the book"
There are alot of different views on what and who are the true people of God/Allah.
The only real answer is that we are all children of Allah.
And as long as we acknowledge that there is only the one true God, no matter what name you call him, that is the most important thing.

I suggest you read The Quran for yourself. You will see for yourself and be able to decide.
No one can force you to convert, no matter how convincing.
There is no compulsion in Islam, save for the love of Allah.
Read the Quran, and if Allah puts truth into your heart, you will feel it, and you will know, no matter what your decision.

And no, you're not guaranteed just for converting, and any religion that preaches that is false. You are granted a cleansing of your past sins once you give your life to Allah, but you have to work thru salvation no matter what religion you are in.

Listen to your heart, read the word, and make your decision.
Tell your friend you need time to consider, and be firm. She will understand if she is your true friend, and truly interested in your learning about Islam.

I can guarantee one thing. You will be treated better as a Christian wife than as a Muslim wife. The Muslims serve an angry, vengeful, more impersonal God that is unapproachable by man, whereas Christians serve a personal, loving, merciful God that you can have a personal relationship with.

The Quran cannot be trusted because it contains "divinely inspired" contradictions. If God changes his own revelation, how can we be certain he won't change again in the future?

How do we know God won't change and send us more prophets? How do you know that Mohammed was the last prophet?

If God can change his speech is Islam, how are we supposed to trust him with our soul?

If the Muslim God is not consistent, then his creatures have no foundation for morality and ethics. The Quran indicates that God can change his mind. Morality and ethics must be absolute.
