how do bouncers achieve bulky bodies, they seem to be big but not defined or ripped how, what workout routines do they use?

yes i agree with judoka.it's not the big bulky blokes you worry about it's the blokes that are 30-45 who are around 5.8 to 6.0 foot and fit that you be wary off.you can generally pick the blokes that it pays not to upset,they just have that look of experience,dont say much and dont stand there with there arms crossed over thier great bloated fat stomachs or steroid fuelled man boobs glaring around the room daring ppl to say or do something.

I don't think bulky/large/muscular people are large because they are bouncers. Rather, they are bouncers because they are bulky/large/muscular.

You have to be able to actually bounce people through intimidation and/or force if you are a bouncer - generally, you need either long term training or natural size or both to do the job.

Most bouncers are big and slow and most I've had a run in with look like they can do a lot of damage but then can not do any. This is just my experience but they are given the job because they are big and scary but when you hit them they go down too easy, I'm not saying I'm strong or anything but these guys are all take.

Seriously i am sure that there are some seriously well trained bouncers out there and some that attend the Gym on a regular basis. But most bouncers are just born big guys! It's how nature intended them to be!

Bouncers are just big fat guys who where tight black t-shirts. It's an intimidation thing. If you go to a bar and see 2 guys who are 5'6 and weigh 150 lbs you'll probably think those guys can't do anything if something happens. But if you see 2 6'4 250lb fat guys with tight shirts sleaves rolled up and standing there with their arms crossed eyeballing everyone. Then you'll think I don't want to mess with these guys.But typically they have little or no training.
The guys to look out doing security at the bars or clubs are the smaller guys. If they are working there they probably have good experience and training. Why do you think most private security guard for government officials and celebrities are averae sized. They only ever use those huge guys for intimidation and pushing through crowds.
I'm not telling you to go out an mes with bouncers but don't think just cause they are big that thy are tough or in shape or trained...

genetics help with height. genetics or hard work in the gym for the bulk.

judoka, you must live in a McDonalds capital. we dont have fat bouncers here, they are as useless as fat security guards outside of banks. hiring people only for looks is dumb, as ALL bouncers get attacked at some point. form falls, when function remains.

I am 6'2", 86kg. thats not big, but its perfect for me. looking capable and being capable is EVERYTHING in bouncing.
I have had close protection training, and been involved in VIP protection. our crew has all had some access to this as well. we train CQB, and Muay Thai. eat well, dont drink alcohol. perks of teh job are sex, drugs, and alcohol, but temptation leads to mistakes. it may seem hard to say no, but it is better than being set up.
(just like Neo and teh woman in the red dress, it is very easy to be set up for a fall, and the enemies are not so obvious)

some of the guys are huge in the scene here, but around here they all ring fight, or have links to gangs.

as bushido said, you can tell the guys to beware. and it is seldom the huge beefy ones. though we dont hire small guys because even though a friend of mine is a short @ss, and is one vicious son of a *****, he gets targeted too often, and it raises our incident rate.

incidents = police intervention, which means the punters dont want to be there, and the club loses revenue. so we aim for guys that are naturals, yet have some height. its all about safe guarding your assets, and ensuring your professionalism and future work.

and you can teach people how to do things, but if they are not naturals you will waste your time. street smart cant be taught any other way but than through experience.

most of the bouncers I know used to wrestle. They're probably just making up for all that weight-watching they had to do.

Many bouncers eat a lot and do power lifting.

GENETICS help a lot, but mostly eating a lot of protein and body building, (power lifting, NO CARDIO) Being ripped is overrated, just for looks. CARDIO is a big guys worst enemy, it thins out your legs and impedes growth.
