I am 20 right now, I am planning to buy a Toyota FJ Cruiser. Should I wait until I am 21 to buy a car? Does it help when I get a finance, and insurance?

There's not really going to be a price difference between 20 and 21. Age/price breaks vary by state and company, but most of the time you don't see a significant drop in the rates until you're 25, or have been licensed 6 full years.

Good choice on the FJ Cruiser. I own one myself and pay 41 bucks a month (full coverage) then again i have been driving for 24 years, no accidents. 25 years old seems to be the "big break" for heavy insurance bills. age doesn't really have much to do with financing except for maybe "inexperience" to gain a decent credit rating.

You credit standing and history, along with employment affects your finance options and you insurance wouldn't be affected until you are either married or turn 25 as a male. If you buy now, you'll start a long line of credit history with the car note to help you in the future.

The way your use your credit is taken into consideration when applying for a loan. What percentage of your income is spent for rent/house payment, other bills you may have. If you are a male, your insurance fees will be outragious for this vehicle, and would remain high until you turn 25/and get married. This car does have a good return value,Yota's tend to hold their value well overall, you might consider getting a later model to get your costs down.

It will help with financing if you are establishing more good credit in that year and your insurance will be a little lower in a year, probably not much. If you are responsible and are sure you can afford it, go for it now.

It would be better to wait until you can pay cash for a car. You do not have to buy a new car either.
