It's hard to generalize about an entire gender... actually it's just hard to generalize in general.
For many guys looks can be what draws them to a girl; but what really matters is what makes a relationship work. A relationship based on looks and emotions... feelings and supposition is doomed to failure... and quickly.
Also, what looks good is not only what Cameron Diaz says. Many guys find things attractive that may not be what you would call socially normal. Also, behaviors play a role too... while you may have a beautiful girl in your sights, her bad boy attitude, or her need to flirt with every guy she sees can be a powerful incentive to not talk to her.
At best looks are an opening, an incentive to develop lines of communication and begin a relationship... but if a guy wants to have a partnership, then it isn't looks that matter.

The very young guys, and some even not so young but still immature, yes it's true. But later on, and not that far off trust me, guys grow up a bit and start seeing more than just the "pretty". You can increase your chances and your satisfaction with a date, by getting interested in older guys by a few years. Which is a good idea anyway because they are more mature and knowledgeable and experienced anyway!

For a girl friend,yes men like pretty girls most of the times but to make a life partner we will be stupid if we look for beauty only.

Honestly it depends "Guys" in general or alot of guys I know want to have the hottest girlfriend but it is also a difference of opinion every guy has a different taste in what he calls pretty. And some guys just want who are the called pretty ones so they can have bragging rights.

Sorry to be said but usually what the first guy said is pretty true. Although there can be other motivations (money, power etc) but usually people aim within their own league (although thats not to say that people of all sorts dont enjoy looking at pretty people)

i know exactly what you are feeling, this has happened to me in the past. I liked a guy and all he did was talk to my best friend. i felt so betrayed. but i think what you need to do, is just talk to him and be yourself. that's what i did, and then he started liking me, and now i have his email, and that's not really important right now, but some guys notice you just by how you act, guys don't look at your makeup or clothes, unless you dress REALLY dorky, but don't let a guy get to you, because....it's not what's on the outside that counts it's in the inside that does, and i'm sure you've herad that one before, but it's true. If you have a good personality anyone will like you. Everyone finds someone attractive. Not everyone has the same taste. I guess really pretty girls get guys a lot faster, but if they have a bad personality they will lose them just as quick.

i am a girl and i'm not sure. yeah it seems like they only go for the girls that are good looking while the others less fortunate with their looks are all alone and do not recieve attention from guys. people these days are so focused on looks.. even though looks are not all that makes a person. =(

Pretty girls can be nice too. Also, sometimes pretty girls have guys that like them - yeah, but it seems like girls who are not so fortunate looking get more boyfriends than pretty girls do(and i mean boyfriends, not hook ups(in high school)). why is that? too shy?...

Usually when u see something beautiful,it is human tendency to admire. So guys like to admire pretty girls without knowing much of their nature.
When u tend to like a person, whom u know for a long time, u like their nature n character though they r not attractive.
