Are you referring to D.O? That is a doctor of osteopathy. These are doctor that go more into the alternative medicines. In helping the body heal naturally. They are still physicians having recieved a degree from an acredited university. However they see the body as an interrelated unit and strive to heal using more natural means. Chiropractic manipulation, probiotics and herbal medicines are part of the practice of this kind of medicine.
