As much as it may hurt or confuse you right now, I believe you went with your instincts when you said "no" the first time. If your parents don't want you dating yet, you gave the best answer. Your best friend backed your decision, which was a good thing. Remember he is her cousin and she knows him better than you do. I believe you made the right choice, don't second guess yourself. It will only cause you a lot of grief down the line. A person can only do the best they can with what they have at the time.

I suggest you talk to your best friend and talk it over with her. She may help you work on this. Remember to make your own decisions with no emotional pressure from others. If they push you into making an immediate decision, simply decide not to decide at that time. Good luck hope this helps.

If your parents have said that you cannot date yet, it was a perfect answer. Let it be. When you are old enough to date there will be other boys available. Just be flattered and let it go.

i would have said yes and found a way to see him. your so called best friend should be happy for you even if it is her cousin. i mean doesn't she want both of you to be happy? plus then you would be family so i don't see what the fuss is about. i would be tellin him "YES!" as soon as i next saw him and claim temporary insanity at the last time we talked.

Wave good by when your best friend moves. You don't owe her by dating her relative.
