Why do white people think that America belongs to them & the are the true Americans ?

My opinion is America belongs to the Native Indians and ANYONE else is just a guess or an occupier

Indians were fighting over America way before Whites came. The Aztecs wiped out or enslaved smaller tribes, raping them, killing them, just like old whitey. For game, gold, whatever. White man does the same thing. But for any less noble of a cause? Riches, game, land, just like what the Indians were killing and raping each other for before whites came. Many tribes killed and conquered to get where they are today. Whites did the same thing, and well, here they are. Land can't belong to one people forever. Throughout history, people have conquered each other (including Indians), and the winner gets the land. The whole, WE WERE HERE FIRST, thing doesn't work. In fact, if the East Coast Indians weren't fighting amongst themselves, they might have been able to unite and defeat "whitey". But you forget that Indians bought the white mans technology to kill other neighboring Indian tribes. Indians took part in the massive market killing of animals in order to pay for technology to beat their tribal enemies. Yeah, it's sad, the whites should have never done what they did, but Indians weren't all that innocent either. There are good and bad people on both sides, and the Bad Indians and the Bad Whites are what caused the downfall of the Native Americans.

I think this is an honest mistake on the part of people living today that fail to judge historical events in historical context, either out of a misguided urge for political correctness or simple lack of knowledge.

The USA - before "Manifest Destiny" was realized - existed as a small group of colonies. I don't care who inhabited the continent first, and if it was the red man, then good for them. The *country*, however, was founded by White people from and dissatisfied with Britain.

From there, you have treaties, purchases, and as one poster pointed out -- right of conquest.

So you are wrong. This country does not belong to American Indians. As a matter of fact you are downright contradictory, since if the conversation were to switch to illegal immigration you'd claim that this country belongs to everyone.

It is interesting to read some of the postings. Some are good to read others are pathetic full of misspellings, improper subject verb agreements, etc. If we live in a rich country we need to learn how to use correct grammar when communicating?

To the point, America doesn’t belong to anyone, its a land mass that belongs to who - the planet and most of all to God. People wonder why there is such great contempt for America - its because of its hypocritical, racist, imperialistic, and ignorant ideology it spews to the world.

When the whites came to country, they came for what reason (I'll give you a hint - it wasn’t religious). They came here for money and profit reasons. Go back and look at the reasons for Roanoke and Jamestown. Since then whites (not all whites) have to this country and systematically murdered the Native Americans who through a process of thousands of years came from Asia and not Europe as some unintelligent being stated to settle into America. White Americans killed off the Native Americans, stole there possession, and then went on to push them on to reservations camps refer to the Trail of Tears for more information. Then we went to other countries on other continents and stole other people to work the plantations in the south. Then there was an orchestration of lies and wars to steal Texas and other key territories from Mexico/Spain, the Gadsden territories.

I say this country belongs to them that built this country, the Native Americans, who where here first, who were systematically dehumanized and murdered off, then the African Americans slaves who worked the field and were treat with utter humiliation and contempt, the Chinese who built the railroads who were also dehumanized, the Mexicans who plowed the farms without e, the Japanese who were stripped of there citizenship and put in American concentration camps and to all of those unnamed cultures who were and are subjugated to the evils, humiliations, and destitution caused by white America ( not all whites, but those who acted in manners described above)

When do we move on and forward? In the so called most advanced nation in the country we are still having illogical debates dealing with race and the value of a person based on their skin tone. Let me help someone - race is a white american human construct that is not based scienticically or empirically methods, its all an opinion. For this country to produce the number of scientist and mathematicians, we still hold on to Southern racist ideologies from 200 years ago that is why the country is not moving forward. Get over it and move on, non whites are here to stay in American and they are not going any where any time soon, so get it the program, pray and ask God for forgiveness for being evil and treating a fellow human with contempt, and destitution - then pray that God frees your mind from the shackles of ignorance and become the person he wants you to be.
