Is it because they have done extraordinary deeds? If so then don't you think there would be more than 3 Arch-Angels by now?

There are most likely more then 3, they are just not all named in the Bible.

There are 9 ranks for angels:

Seraphim
Cherabim
Thrones
Dominions
Virtues
Powers
Principalities
Archangels
Angels

Archangel means top angel. There can only be one. That one is Michael. Where do you get the idea that there are 3 of them??

The Christian Church took most of it heavenly hierarchy from the Greek Olympus heirarchy. Minor Gods can be promoted and demoted.
