Some do...and others don't. Those who object probably have a problem with the image they have of themselves. Lots of guys have a need to appear "MACHO". Personally, I think that the most macho guys are those who don't put on a front like that.
As to names, have you thought about "Leash"?

because men are manly and don't want pet names for much of anything. I don't really blame them, it's a part of their body and they don't want it de-manned with a fluffy name!

jearbear i do no longer understand if this enables, yet I definitely have like 6 billion for my joe, i will call some and maybe you should use a number of them. he calls me maximum of those names as properly joebear pretzel - i'm pickle boo undergo babydoll dollface izza boosha snickerdoodle wishy pie - i'm french fry jellybean hen stew - i'm spaghetti stew boo buns undergo bones they are all interchangeable with boo and undergo and such. they are stupid and ridiculous, yet i like them!
