I have a client who wants 'eco-friendly' window treatments and I have no knowledge of this field

For wood blinds it would be the species of wood the are made from. Is it a renewable resource, like bamboo, farmed tress, not an exotic wood from the rain forests as an example. I am sure there are other Eco-friendly materials, it depends on the look you client is interested in. Products like recycled plastics, etc...

Wood has very good insulating qualities, apart from the fact that it may or may not come from an easily renewable source, it will help to keep the house cool in the summer and warm in the winter, therefore helping to save energy costs and the fuels necessary to create energy.

Eco-friendly products are often those made from a renewable resource, such as wood, as opposed to a non-renewable resource such as plastic (which is made from petroleum - when it's gone, it's gone).

I would guess they would mean not plastic.
So i would say wood would be fine or even cain blinds.
Depending on what feel they are going for..
