whats the color of the flooring or the bedding or the drapes either go with the main colors in the room or go opposites if the floor is blue cream the walls or do a red wash on one wall and three white walls or a dark wall like scarlette and then three white or do a treatment like two color paint one then smash the other over it with a sponge or a rolled up towel go to the library before the paint store and look up paint and wall treatments ,,

I'm taking a color class so there's a MILLION different ways to go about choosing the color for a room. What kind of feel do you want? More relaxing? More exciting? Nuetrals and earth tones will give you a relaxed calming feel and brights will inspire and motivate to move. Different colors symbolize different ideas. If you have natural light you could do a darker color but stay light if there's little light in your room. Remember, whatever you choose, the paint chip will not necessarily represent what the ENTIRE wall will look like after painting. Recent studies show that Americans favor blue pallets over any other color, whether that be a baby blue or a royal blue. Green is also supposed to relaxing as well.....I think it's mostly safe to say that you should stick with your personality and the function of the room when choosing your color.

I used a feature wall with purple paint but also using a satin finish. Which gave it a velvet look.
Then the rest of the walls a creamy off white look.

I wanted something different from just the white wall look.
Plus with a black and blueish purple look.. it all works in well together. very luxurious feel to the room now.

But i do like Oranges and browns..too. to give that earthy feel.

Several Paint Company websites have some great online tools for deciding color.

Also, Better Homes and Garden has a "color-a-room" feature.

Always consider the color in all lights (evening and morning) and the tone (warm or cool) as compared to your furniture and flooring.

Sweet Georgia Brown, it's current and awesome, then use some metallic bronze drapes. Paint the ceiling cinamon.

Creams & ivory are great. That way it makes changing of bed linens and drapes easier and you don't have to always coordinate with your wall colour.
But if you really like some colour, opt for something really light and pale like light powder/baby blues(very soothing for bedtime),pale buttercup(cheerful & light) or very light hydrangea/sage green(calm & fresh) as a feature wall with cream,off-white or ivory.

All the best,dear!

Gray, I painted my room gray and its awesome. It makes a room seem lighter when its nighttime and you turn the lights on.
