My dad is coming down with his van and would like to tow my 1500 dodge ram from NC to FL. I am trying to find out if one is available to us. Is this possible and who could I go to, to get it done? Thanks!

Well I am leaving Monday so doing a train is not an option. If we cant find one that will work I will drive it behind him, not a big deal. It would be nice to be in a van with a baby and 2 cats instead of the cab of our truck.

U-Haul rents tow dollies. Be sure to remove the driveshaft in the towed vehicle before hauling to avoid transmission problems in a rear wheel drive vehicle.

When you calculate the cost of the trailer, vehicle prep, extra fuel used to tow, tow vehicle's repairs that it will need over that distance, (brakes, trans, etc.) it would be cheaper, safer and less hasstle to ship it down by train. They'll put it on a half full flat car and the cost is very reasonable. I had a car shipped from B.C. to Ontario for just a little over 500.

You could disconnect the drive line and rent a tow bar then pull it with the van.

if it's a 4x4 do not tow the vehicle. It will destroy the transfer case. good luck on getting down to fl.
