Volunteering is a very rewarding experience. I've found it to also be very addictive. When you start volunteering and helping others, it's very hard to stop. I started with one project through my volunteer center, and continued on to many others.

When I'm helping one of the children I tutor, it's a great feeling to know that you're helping them succeed academically and socially. It's a good feeling to know that you are making a difference, and that is its own reward.

I realize that it's not possible to help everyone, but that doesn't mean I'm going to stop trying...

Check out your volunteer center, and see how you can help:

Remember, you CAN make a difference.

It's so rewarding. You are rewarded by feeling like you've given something back into the community - which feels amazing.

Also, when people tell you that you've made a difference to their day or their life and thank you, you're rewarded again.

I've made a lot of great friends who are community minded through volunteerism.

And, you learn so much about yourself, your capabilities and strengths and about the lives of others through volunteering. I think the greatest reward is knowing another side of yourself, knowing how giving and loving and caring you can be in a situation.

What you put into any experience is what you get out of it - put in nothing - out nothing - YES - I think volunteering is a rewarding experience - I have been volunteering for more than 30 years and pray I will be able to do it until I die!@~

well a long time ago, in a galaxy far away, I used to drink a lot, i was not a good citizen, I no longer drink, and I'm trying to put back all the bad things I've done in my community (never arrested or anything). Ask anyone who volunteer's, it kind of makes you work harder because, you are not getting paid, and you know deep down inside, that you are doing the "right thing", I help out by volunteering to assist the USCG. It's like when a baby gets sick in the middle of the night, and needs help. The call goes out, and people (Volunteer Firemen) who do NOT get paid, get up in the middle of the night, crunch across the snow 1/2 dressed, drive fast to the firehouse in bad weather, fires up the ambulance, and gets to YOUR house in about 30 seconds.... What if we did'nt have people like this ??????

Volunteering is very rewarding. You're not only doing good your feeling great about it while helping others.

It's also an educational experience, it's making you a wiser person. Your leaning constantly from others, no matter how old you are, you're always learning. It also makes you humble and grateful for what you have.

Those are rewards in itself.

I volunteer almost every day at The Salvation Army and its the most rewading thing ever. I get the chance to teach kids life skills, their parents don't teach them the most simple things and I get to teach them. It awesome. I also teach parents, clean, do errands or whatever the ministers there need. Every day I get the chance to tell people about God and thats the greatest thing in the world.

it is very rewarding! When you help someone, you feel happier and the world seems more beautiful. For me, the reward is in knowing that the person benefitted from aid rendered and i feel proud of myself too.

it makes you feel as if you've done good to others but just from a self point of view. I did it twice and i loved it. I just dont do it anymore because theres really no money involved nor time. Plus, i was like 17 at the time and it was an "escape" from homeworks really....
