No, you have so much time in between. I frequently have to run the mile, and then an hour later the 3200! its crazy! just drink a lot and eat healthy
can you add more details: are you talking about moc's and easterns as the two meets?

I ran the mile, half and 4 x 800 in track. Practice is always harder than the meet. I mean it takes more out of you. If you run the mile on Tuesday and rest on Wednesday, you will be fine on Thursday. After all, you will have only ran one mile on Tuesday. If you are a new runner, you may feel like you can't do your best, but don't worry. I did my best when I didn't necessarily feel like I was in killer condition that day.

No...you should be fine. I used to run the mile & 2-mile at the same meets and here's what to do so you can get a good recovery:
1. Gently stretch and go for a warm-up jog before the race.
2. After the race, don't sit down...stretch and go for a cool down jog and try to keep walking and moving around.
The post-race cool-down and stretching will help move the wastes out of your muscles and the 48 hours in-between should give you plenty of rest. Drink a lot of water, too! This will also assist the muscles in getting rid of the lactic acid (waste). Best of luck!

Absolutly. Your body needs time to recover from the physical exertion. As a good middle distance runner myself having faced the same situation before I would run the first one at about 80-85% of your average and then you should be able to go all out on thursday with a good warmup workout two days before.

just run the first part slower, its a common mistake to run the first part too fast!(: also run a few miles sometime other than track practice, that will REALLY help your endurance!(: Thats the best advice, right there. And if all else fails, try a shorter distance, the 400m and 800m are considered distance events too(: Good luck!

No especially if you have been doing a lot of training and make sure that you take it very easy on your 1 day off and try to get in some stretching and I think you will find yourself with a surprisingly good time.

Not really, because it is just a mile. If it was more than maybe, but it really depends on how good and welll trained you are. I think that it should be no problem for you.
