We did. You just have to know when to say when. You really have to keep up on what's happening in the planning, don't let someone else just run with it because you are stressed out. We did a very nice wedding for about 75 guests. We even paid for a buffet type meal for all the guests afterwords. We were married outdoors. It was a great day. Close friends and family only were invited. They all liked the idea of the outdoor wedding. Just remember you don't really have to impress anybody by your wedding, this is YOUR wedding not theirs. Congradulations, good luck.

My sister is having her wedding this July for 130 people and the budget was just under $6,000. She is having a luncheon reception (Ceremony 10:00am / Reception 11:00am-3:00pm). By making the time earlier, she was able to get better prices and still host the type of wedding that she wanted. Maybe you can consider an earlier reception, or one that is on an off day like a Friday or Sunday? Best of luck!!!

It can be done
My husband and I cut some things
Photo, we decided to not get an professor one
Flowers, my aunt did silky as my wedding gift.
I still have them
We had it on a Friday night, so we can invite everyone, about 140, we go 90 yes
Look into renting a hall, or a park
Matches for wedding favors
Dress, I got one for 150 on sale
You can look at Second hand shops and eBay, and sales.
Food and Cake shop around for
You are able to have a simple wedding
Congratulations

Here is how you budget:
Reception Site/Food/Favors $2,250.00
Photography & Video $750.00
Flowers $750.00
Music $400.00
Rehearsal Dinner $250.00
Bridal Gown $250.00
Limousines / Transportation $125.00
Stationery / Invitations $100.00
Bridal Accessories $50.00
Clergy/Chapel $50.00
Wedding Accessories $25.00
Anything you spend less on or eliminate, you can reallocate.
Things not included are:
Tuxedos (sometimes groom is free if groomsmen get their tuxes)
Honeymoon (all depends on where, when, and type)
Rings (this is a lifetime investment)
Just remember to KEEP IT SIMPLE. Don't go overboard on elaborate bouquets, meals, centerpieces, etc. The less people you have participating in the ceremony is money-saving as well (one Maid of Honor and one Best Man means not having to buy bouquets or gifts or bouttainieres or meals for a dozen people)

Absolutely you can....
one thing that can cut your budget down a lot is to have it at a restaurant, as in go to a restaurant & offer to buy out their space essentially for the whole time. Fix a menu, and voila, you've saved on table/equipment rentals, staff costs, etc. Do it at lunch time. And you can definitely keep it under that 5000 budget.
Get your dress from a store that's closing or selling samples. Go with seasonal flowers.
Get a photos only package from photographer and have them give you the negatives that you can print out when u have more cash....
Go with a simple cake, get it from a grocery store. Some grocery stores do flower arranging too... at a much discounted price. Or go with a florist that works out of their home.
You get the idea?

Yes, it can be done. You just have to know what your doing and where to look for what you want. I am a wedding planner and I am also in the process of planning my own wedding on a $3000 budget with a little over 100 guests. Where do you live? This is totally possible! We had a wedding with 300 invited and 250 that came. we spent under $8,000. We made everything we could from the table arrangements to the ring bearer pillow. Keep in mind that simple can be very elegant. We were very lucky that we had our families involved. We didnt have to pay for a videographer bc my uncle did it for us (his hobby) as a wedding gift to us. same with the dj and limo driver. see if you have family or friends that could help out in some way for the wedding, such as someone who knows how to do alterations or can drive a rental car for you instead of a limo driver (limos can cost upwards from $300, a rental car $50 and up with a black sedan, that can be very classy) its all about careful planning and creativity. good luck and congrats!

for the ceremony consider getting married at an outdoor location sometimes churches can be expensive for decorations and all that its only gonna be for an hour. and for a reception consider having a cocktail and dance reception later on in the evening so you only have to serve appitizers and things like that..the major portion of my budget is going to food..its pretty pricey and consider decorations being purchased wholesale. Purchase a dress that has no embelishments and wear a rihnestone brooch or belt..thats what im doing..

You could have a wedding where, in lieu of wedding gifts, people just pay for there own dinner. You could hire out a restaurant, put $1000 into having a bottle of wine per table, and let people eat whatever they like. You can then still have a beautiful dress, flowers, speeches etc.

it can be done the food is the most expensive part so have every one bring a cover dish and if that sounds to country tell them to make something fancier than just a macaroni salad or find a catering place that offers package deals you may be able to do that for under a thousand have brides mades rent their dresses and maybe you even rent yours after all you are going to only wear it once congrats on the wedding
